Snake Hooks.

If you have read the section on "Controlled Emotional Response" you will find that I mentioned "Rubbing" or "gently touching" "Hook training" snakes before you interact with them.
This is not a vital practice, but it one that has served me very well over the years, so there may be some advantages to it.
The photo insert is of one of the many hooks that I use to assist me when handling Snakes. It is a very useful tool especially when dealing with particularly defensive animals, once you are used to using a hook you will be surprised how many uses they can have.
Hooks come in many different sizes and weights, you just need to try a few first to get the feel for the ideal hook's for your purpose.

Feeding Tongs and Tweezers.

Feeding Tongs and Tweezers are a very important tool when keeping Reptiles, Especially for those animals that eat singular items such as Rodents or Birds.
The worse type of bite you could experience from a reptile is that of a feeding reaction.
It is foolhardy (in my opinion) to feed a Snake or lizard with a prey item with your Bare hands.
I have received a fair few bites from my reptiles in the past 27+ years of keeping them and by far the worse bites are the ones where I either smelled of their Prey or they thought I was a food item.
Don't be a Wolly, Its not herotic, big or cleaver, buy some decent Tongs or Tweezers to keep your hands well out of harms reach.
